Restaurants In Muskegon - A Database of Muskegon Restaurants

Restaurants In Muskegon is a basic Restaurant database for Muskegon. I started this site for a couple of different reasons. One because I promote for a few different restaurants and bars in Muskegon. This is one of the sites I use on purpose to do exactly that. This is also a great example of what I can do with a content management system. I also started this site just to see how competitive I could be against the other restaurant sites in the area, and truthfully, this site dominates on a lot of different levels.

Content management systems are great. Once you have them set up, to add other pages, change menus and do inter linking, it's all a breeze. In this case I took a very simple and free wordpress skin and made it my own. There is something great about purchasing a premium wordpress skin and running it as is, but as someone who writes code, I really like to take these simple skins and change them up to do what I want.

I initially set this site up around the end of 2010, with a full on redesign in early 2012. This site has had over 10,000 hits in the last year. Which considering it only had 3 pages until recently was pretty great, but 2012 is going to bring good things. I have recently completely redesigned the site, it has a lot cleaner look. Also completely restructured the way I write the posts, and added another 20 or so pages. Over the next few weeks I will be adding more restaurants from around Muskegon, keeping a close eye on the way that these are showing up in the SERPS.

One thing I really like about this site is there is no other marketing going on here besides just going after search strings. I haven't pushed this on any of my social sites, or put advertisements for this site on any of my other sites. Strictly organic search traffic coming in here. That really allows me to experiment to see what I can learn, and of course to take that knowledge to my clients sites. Local Search Domination here we come!!!
