Cancun Connection is a bar and grill located in Muskegon, MI. Cancun Connection's website is unique in the fact that it is like running two websites in one. One for the bar and one for the kitchen. Each side of the site has it's own look. I started these sites in early 2011. Built them from the ground up using html and php. All of the logos used in this site where created from scratch as vector graphics. The logos flow good with the vibe and idea of the bar, and It's fun to be able to use different color schemes within the site, trying to show different aspects, yet also allow some continuity across both platforms.

This site also has a 3 page mobile site that has the event schedule, grill menu and a contact page, so there is easy access for their customers to all of the information they may need to decide and head to the bar.

Two Websites in One - Sleek Design

The grill side of the website is set up on the first page with the menu, and list of daily specials. There is also an off menu page where the kitchen is able to display some of the seasonal or exotic dishes that they serve. There is of course a contact page with a integrated contact form for the kitchen, along with Cancun's catering information.

The circular skull design stayed true to the original logo that the kitchen used, and gave it a more updated look. The logo is used with all aspects of their advertising, web, print, menus and t-shirts. There is also a second logo with a skull in a sombrero that was drawn and colored by Ray Reasoner Jr. of AWOL Custom Tattooing in Muskegon. From his original drawing I was able to vectorize the picture and use it with all aspects of media.

Cancun's Bar side has an event schedule right on the front page, along with their specials for both the bar and the grill. There is a nice benefit corner page where all info for benefits in Muskegon can be placed. There is a picture page which directs you to whichever album you would like to see. For this we put all of the bar pics in Facebook albums, which makes for a nice tie in from the website and the Facebook page for the business. It also allows one of the employees of the business to upload pictures at anytime, and allow them to be seen on both platforms. Social integration, the tie between the main site and Facebook are key, and there are links and call to actions on all pages of the site to keep them intertwined.

On Page Optimization and SEO Search Engine Optimization

This site was set up with the latest in On Page Optimization techniques to fit a structure that is easily indexed by Google, Bing and Yahoo. I did all of the keyword research and content production to fit the specs needed to allow for a good pagerank and allows Cancun Connection to rank highly for all of the search strings they need to target. I have done the SEO work necessary to be visible, with a small amount of link building. The traffic for this site is mostly from a combination of natural organic traffic and shrewd use of Social marketing, fitting perfectly into a local business budget.
