Obviously if you are reading this article than you have seen the 231 Graphics website. I would like to take a minute to discuss a few of the features that I think are great in this particular website design.

I rebuilt this site in December of 2011. It existed before as a graphics and website design site specifically targeting motorcycle related advertising. I have decided to expand this business to cover all areas of internet marketing so a new more mainstream look was needed to appeal to a wider audience.

Top Header is where it all begins...

I went with a very traditional 100% wide top bar that displays the page title and some of the most important linking for the website. I used a combination of div's and some css with z-indexing to layout the top graphic and tables. I like the effect because it allows the world logo to hang over top the main navigation which really does look great. The bottom footer area is also a very traditional 100% wide design that has linking to all of my important social networking sites. What's nice about this layout is over time, as I keep adding articles, I will have a place to do linking, while still keeping only the most important links for customers up towards the top. The picture here to the left shows the contact form on the website for clients to contact me. This is a common feature that I create on most every site using php.

The 231 Graphics Mobile Site

There is a 2 page mobile site that can be viewed on any smart phone. You can view it now by using the QR Code to the left. The mobile site is very basic with a great one page introduction and a contact form for interested parties to contact us with. Hard to say in the long run how much use the mobile site will get, but I do feel it is important.

SEO and On Page Optimization

When I started the redesign on this site it had a decent amount of natural links pointed at the root domain. It is currently ranking decently for some of the search strings I need to catch a percentage of the organic traffic from Western Michigan, but for many search strings I am ranking top of second page (Which is like being in no-mans land). I have a very specific strategy that I will be implementing in the coming weeks to raise those rankings up. Here's to 2012. I believe it is going to be a great year.
